On 1 December 2026, TRUSTECH will host “The Connected Human 2030: Identity, Mobility, Health and Intelligent Living in Trusted Digital Ecosystems” a new conference track that follows trust technology out of the wallet and into the rest of daily life.

 

Secure Payments & Digital ID Technologies can be Applied to Various Domains

Here’s the pitch in one sentence: the infrastructure that lets you tap a card or prove your identity is the same infrastructure a hospital needs to trust a sensor reading, a city needs to trust a traveller’s credential, or a government needs to trust an artificial intelligence (AI) acting on a citizen’s behalf.

TRUSTECH has spent two decades building that infrastructure. For 20 years, the event has been where the world’s payment, identity and smartcard communities meet : 7,700 visitors and 197 exhibitors in 2025 alone, all working on some version of the same question: how do you build technology that people, institutions and machines can trust? That question used to stop at the card reader. It doesn’t any more.

Secure elements, biometric verification, consent management, interoperable credentials, this industry’s core toolkit are now being asked to do new jobs related to personal data protection. A hospital needs to trust a sensor reading. A city needs to trust a traveller’s credential across three transport operators it doesn’t own. A government needs its citizens to trust an AI acting on their behalf.

None of that is a new discipline. It’s the same discipline, applied somewhere new.

A Conference Session Dedicated to the Connected Human and the Trusted Digital Ecosystems

“The Connected Human 2030” is built on that continuity, across four sessions.

  • Session 1, The Digital Self, opens with the wallet.

As it evolves from an authentication tool into an AI-powered personal hub managing identity, payments and daily decisions, what does trust, privacy and user control look like when the wallet starts acting for you, not just verifying who you are.

  • Session 2, From Travel to Living, follows connectivity into the city.

Integrated mobility platforms, universal ticketing and real-time data are turning journeys across transport modes and borders into something closer to seamless; and identity-enabled travel is a large part of how that seamlessness stays trustworthy, inclusive and sustainable rather than merely convenient for some.

  • Session 3, The Connected Body.

It turns to biometric sensors, wearables and medical AI, and the shift from occasional treatment towards continuous, personalised care. That shift runs on the same questions this industry already answers daily: who is accountable for the data, how explainable is the decision, how is consent genuinely protected.

  • Session 4, The Connected Human.

Closing by asking what this means for governments and businesses building strategy for 2030, where digital trust, sovereignty and cross-sector collaboration stop being compliance checkboxes and become competitive fundamentals.

 

Trust Technologies in the Heart of TRUSTECH

Why now? TRUSTECH isn’t adding new subject matter so much as recognising that its audience already owns the hard part. The regulators, issuers and identity architects in this room have spent years solving trust problems that health and mobility leaders are only now facing at scale. Putting those communities in the same room for a day isn’t a departure from TRUSTECH’s core business: it’s the natural next chapter of it.

Expect the conversation to pull in voices well beyond this industry’s usual guest list health, mobility, government all making the same case from a different angle: that the technologies of trust are becoming the technologies of everyday life.
