1) Could you describe your company as well as the products and solutions you will be presenting at TRUSTECH 2022?
Keyfactor offers to modern enterprises cryptographic solutions for protecting the digital identities of machines, people and IoT. The company helps CISOs, ITsec/Inf sec security teams to manage cryptographic assets, such as certificates and keys as a critical infrastructure by simplifying PKI, automating certificate lifecycle management, and enabling “crypto-agility” at scale. Companies trust Keyfactor to secure every digital key and certificate for multicloud environments, hybrids, DevOps, and embedded IoT security. At TRUSTECH, we will be presenting our solutions, such as Keyfactor Command and Keyfactor Signum, and our combined PKI/FIDO authentication offer that simplifies and improves how digital keys and certificates are managed and protected.
2) What current trends do you think provide opportunities for your company?
KeyFactor can leverage several economic and structural factors. First of all, the heightened press coverage on cybersecurity and the number of increasingly sophisticated hacks have greatly accelerated awareness at the highest corporate ranks. Another important factor is the exponentially higher use of digital certificates, which is linked to factors such as the acceleration of the digital transformation, the modernization of tools, new security approaches such as Zero Trust, and the use of IoT, cloud services and new applications. In fact, there has been an increasing amount of requests, renewals, deployments and removals of these certificates with limited life cycles. It is becoming very time-consuming for companies that no longer have the resources to manage them manually. Coupled with the rise in machine identities, businesses only have a partial view of the certificates they issue and use (shadow IT). Therefore, they have to constantly be on guard and manage their PKI to make sure they are issuing secure certificates and keeping a full and continuous inventory of all the company’s cryptographic assets. Concerning the cybersecurity of people (employees, consultants, external...), the main trend in Enterprise IT is to adopt strong authentication techniques based on digital certificates secured by smart cards, USB tokens, mobile terminals and new standards such as FIDO. Finally, based on recommendations from ENISA (European Union Agency for Cybersecurity), GSMA IoT (GSM Association), new industrial standards such as Matter and IEC 62443, regulations like Europe’s Cyber Resilience Act, and the new Zero Trust Strategy are encouraging companies to adopt managed PKI, digital signatures, and cryptography to guarantee the integrity and authenticity of all their active equipment and software. 3) Why did you choose to participate in TRUSTECH 2022? Will you be presenting innovative or new products or solutions there?
Initially, TRUSTECH was geared toward the smartcard identity industry, so it’s naturally related to KeyFactor's PKI. In addition, this exhibition now includes bank security, which is a very promising sector for us. Finally, TRUSTECH is an opportunity for KeyFactor to highlight the successful alliance of PKI and FIDO (Fast Identity Online), the new standard for open and standardized passwordless authentication. These two authentication methods are perfectly synergized.
4) How does TRUSTECH 2022 help grow your business?
This is our first time attending TRUSTECH. Every year, high-level professionals come to the exhibition looking for products and solutions adapted to their specific needs in secure technologies and applications. During the three-day event, we hope to meet and talk with many customers and prospects to promote and demonstrate our current and new solutions and services. But above all, we want to continue to strengthen our reputation and visibility in the banking sector.
5) Where do you intend to grow your business in the future (countries or verticals)?
We are primarily focused on supporting the digital transformation and the modernization of the IT of major corporations integrating CLM and PKI in their cloud migrations. We also want to continue developing several more critical sectors for KeyFactor like telecom, healthcare, transportation and energy.
