Exhibitor's Interview: Adaptive Recognition

Adaptive Recognition (formerly ARH), has been developing software and hardware devices based on optical character recognition (OCR) for 30 years. What makes us unique is that we own the whole production process, from design to manufacturing.

1) Could you describe your company as well as the products/solutions that you will be presenting during TRUSTECH 2022?

Our company, Adaptive Recognition (formerly ARH), has been developing software and hardware devices based on optical character recognition (OCR) for 30 years. What makes us unique is that we own the whole production process, from design to manufacturing. This means we can respond to special project requirements from system integrators in a short time and help them cost-effectively deliver results.

For the identity verification market, we offer professional ID readers and passport scanners renowned for high-quality imaging, MRZ, VIZ reading, and highly reliable document authentication functions.

These products are confidently used worldwide by governmental authorities, hotels (such as the Ritz-Carlton and Hilton international chains), banks (such as Société Générale), international airports (such as Budapest Airport), and many more.

2) In your opinion, what are the current trends that are providing opportunities for your company?

Data security is an ever-growing concern, and we are experiencing an increasing demand for standalone, network-based devices.

Some of our Osmond ID reader models have a dual interface to function as standalone networks or traditional USB devices. They can be integrated into systems with thin clients, virtualized operating systems, and any LAN or internet-based environment with no local installation. This makes them ideal for centrally managed networks, as they can be used in pool mode, connecting to multiple clients in the network through Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or 4G.

3) Why did you choose to participate at TRUSTECH 2022? Will you be presenting innovative/new products or solutions during TRUSTECH 2022?

We are excited to showcase our Osmond passport scanner / ID reader product portfolio.

These easy-to-integrate devices feature hardware-accelerated automatic image enhancement with a maximum resolution of 700 PPI to provide a complete analysis of optical security features of documents. They inspect the MRZ (machine readable zone) as well as the VIZ (visual inspection zone) parts of the document and perform 1D/2D barcode and RFID-chip data reading.

Besides the standard visible white, infra-red and ultra-violet, they uniquely feature a built-in white oblique (edge) light to also visualize the surface structure of documents.

4) How is TRUSTECH 2022 important for growing your business?

We love opportunities to exchange with other players in the industry and build new bridges and potential partnerships. TRUSTECH provides an excellent platform for this with visitors and exhibitors from all over Europe and the world.

5) Where do you intend to grow your business in the future (countries or verticals)?

ID verification is usually required by law or company regulations. Still, organizations are beginning to see the value it can bring to other functions of the business, such as customer experience or marketing research.

We are encouraging companies to think outside the box and approach the chore of ID verification innovatively.  For example, the fact that our ID readers process documents in under 2 seconds is not only great for compliance but definitely for customer experience. Bar owners can use the demographic data gained from the age verification process for business growth purposes. The list goes on. We wish to be at the forefront of this approach with our user-friendly devices and matching software for automated data entry and so on.
