2) In your opinion, what are the current trends that are providing opportunities for your company?
The Identification market is constantly evolving with continued trends in leveraging both physical and digital identities to create secure physical citizen ID documents. Today’s core government identification programs such as national ID cards, passports, driver licenses and border crossing cards require robust substrate materials to protect the documents’ physical data as with the contents embedded into the electronic chip. Covestro is leveraging its renowned specialty films solutions and experience to help card and passport manufacturers create identification documents that are secure, high quality and robust in accommodating today’s highly demanding citizen ID programs requiring utmost durability and security features.
3) Why did you choose to participate at TRUSTECH 2021? Will you be presenting innovative/new products or solutions during this event?
Covestro aims to engage with the industry, identity ecosystem, customers and partners for brand awareness, solution evangelization and thought leadership. The TRUSTECH conference bring together the industry for knowledge sharing among the participating exhibitors, speakers and visitors.

The continued trend towards the convergence of physical and digital identity to create secure ID documents plays well into our specialty films portfolio for the Identification segment.

4) How is TRUSTECH 2021 important for growing your business?
It’s an exciting time in the identification segment as market trends are showing a continual trend towards leveraging the best of both worlds in physical and digital ID to create highly secure identification documents.
With threats to identification documents constantly evolving, the industry continues to seek technologies that minimize the risk of counterfeiting and alteration for citizen ID documents while optimizing quality and production process efficiencies.
The TRUSTECH conference will be an important event for Covestro this year as we will promote the “Pushing boundaries in ID document innovations” leveraging our polycarbonate and thermoplastic polyurethane films. The innovative all-in-one ID solution concepts include passport covers that are scratch and abrasion resistant, thin high opaque white polycarbonate films to enable sophisticated ID document clear windows which can also be in combination with color switching polycarbonate films.
